We’re Rhianna and Patrick – the Barefoot Pear. Currently based in a rental in suburban Melbourne, we’re doing everything we can with the space and time we have to learn everything from permaculture and regenerative agriculture to natural building and climate emergency issues. We’re kind of freaking out about the state and future of the planet, and have made a commitment to doing our part to make the world a better place.
We’re big believers in positive action and leading by example. We’ve decided to set up The Barefoot Pear as a space to share photos, ideas, interesting articles and information, and inspiration, all in one place. We love working in our garden, learning new skills and working on various projects, and we want to share this knowledge and skills with the community.
In 2021 we purchased a 6.5 acre property in Deloraine, Tasmania, where we plan to implement the various things we have learned on this journey. Our property will be a place for community to gather. It will be a space to learn and share and grow, all whilst improving the land and providing for our needs without destroying the ecosystem. To get to that point, we have a lot to learn.
